Healthcare for the 62 million people living in rural America today differs from that in urban areas. For instance, rural residents are less likely than residents of urban areas to have health insurance or prescription coverage. Individuals in rural communities are MORE likely to live below the poverty line, and LESS likely to be covered by Medicaid benefits.
