Structure and Composition of Mysoline



1 tablet or 5 ml of the suspension (oral) comprise primidone: 250 mg. Tablets – 100 pieces per pack, a suspension in bottles of 250 ml.

Pharmachologic effect of Mysoline

Mode of action – an anticonvulsant.

Indications of the drug

Epilepsy (the big seizures, focal seizures, myoclonic jerks and akinetic seizures, complex partial seizures).

Contraindications of Mysoline

Hypersensitivity, acute intermittent porphyria.

Side effects of Mysoline

Lethargy, apathy, lethargy, anxiety, blurred vision, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, nystagmus, ataxia, arthralgia, psychotic reactions, megaloblastic anemia, rash, systemic lupus erythematosus.

From the nervous system: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, ataxia, apathy, anxiety, psychotic reactions; nystagmus (rare).

From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting.

From the side of hematopoiesis and hemostasis system: violation of hematopoiesis (megaloblastic B12-deficiency anemia, leukopenia).

Other: Folic acid deficiency, lupus-like syndrome, arthralgia; drug dependence (with prolonged use).

Allergic reactions. Symptoms: dizziness, nausea, ataxia, depression of the central nervous system.

Treatment: gastric lavage, the appointment of activated carbon; symptomatic treatment.

While taking precautions

The drug can be used in complex anticonvulsant therapy. Cancellation and replacement treatment is carried out gradually. The drug decreases the response when driving, operating machinery.
