Synthetic Minomycin drug refers to a group of antibiotics and has a wide range of antimicrobial activity. Minomycin drug is active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative germs, spirochaetes, rickettsiae and some other viruses (particularly to the agents of trachoma, psittacosis, lymphogranuloma venereum). Minomycin is effective even against those strains of bacteria which are resistant to streptomycin, penicillin, and sulfonamides.
The product Minomycin has a powerful antibiotic action. Minomycin directly affects the formation of protein structures in bacterial cells (reducing the rate of amino acid transport links to the lipid chains). As a result, there is a violation of protein synthesis. Minomycin active against pathogens festering, intestinal bacteria, and meningococcal disease. Minomycin is not intended to suppress the anaerobic, acid-fast bacteria, certain strains of staphylococci, fungi and protozoa.
