Pharmachologic effect of Minocin

Semisynthetic antibiotic, tetracycline. The drug Minocin inhibits the growth of bacteria and has a broad spectrum of action. The drug is active against Mycoplasmapneumoniae, Haemophilusinfluenzae, Klebsiella, Streptococcuspneumoniae, Streptococcus, Staphylococcusaurens, Clostridium, Acti-nomyces, Chlamidia, Neisseriameningitidis and other infections.

Indications for use of Minocin

Bacterial infections caused by susceptible to malaria infections: infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract infections, psittacosis (acute infectious disease transmitted to humans from birds), psittacosis (acute infectious disease transmitted to humans from birds), urethritis (inflammation of the urethra), Reiter’s syndrome ( infectious and allergic disease, which is characterized by a combination of urethritis / inflammation of the urinary tract / conjunctivitis / inflammation of the outer membrane of the eye / and multiple joint damage), conjunctivitis, trachoma (an infectious eye disease that can lead to blindness), venereal lymphogranuloma (inguinal lymphoma – disease, sexually transmitted, characterized by inflammation of the inguinal lymph nodes, followed by the formation of bleeding ulcers), plague, tularemia (an acute infectious disease transmitted to humans from animals), anthrax, cholera, brucellosis (an infectious disease transmitted to man, as a rule, from farm animals), relapsing fever (fever epidemic relapsing – an infectious disease transmitted by ticks and is characterized by numerous irregular rises in body temperature), skin and soft tissue infections caused by Streptococcus, Staphylococcusaurens. Treatment of asymptomatic carriers Neisseriameningitidis.

Adverse events of Minocin

There are anorexia (loss of appetite), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dysphagia (disorder of swallowing), increase in liver enzymes in the blood, an erythematic eruption (kinds of skin rash), increased skin sensitivity to sunlight, which is manifested in excessive sunburn, excessive reaction sensitivity – urticaria, arthralgia (joint pain), -development rare anaphylactic (allergic) shock. You may experience headache and dizziness, which can independently disappear with continued treatment, and immediately after its termination. If you have the first signs of skin erythema treatment with the drug should be discontinued.

Contraindications of Minocin

Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines, pregnancy. Minocin not indicated for children under 8 years old. The drug Minocin should be used with caution in patients with an indication of the allergic reactions in the anamnesis (medical history).

Release form of the drug Minocin

Tablets Minocin containing 0.05 and 0.1 g of minocycline hydrochloride, in a package of 100 and 50 units, respectively. Capsules containing 0.05 and 0.1 g of minocycline hydrochloride, in a package of 100 and 50 units. The suspension (slurry) for oral administration (by mouth) the application (5 mL – 0.05 g of minocycline hydrochloride) in vials.
