Generic Enablex reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract. Is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, and incontinence (urine leakage). Cystometric studies in patients with involuntary contractions of the bladder showed that after the treatment darifenacin increased bladder capacity, decreased incidence of irregular contractions of the detrusor.
Treatment resulted in a decrease in the frequency of incontinence episodes, reduces the frequency of painful urination, reduces the frequency of persistent urge to urinate and increased functional bladder capacity.
Darifenacin is a lipophilic substance and its binding to plasma proteins (primarily to alpha 1-acid glycoprotein) is 98%. Vss is 163 liters.
The initial dose — 7.5 mg / day. The dose may be increased to 15 mg / day to 2 weeks after initiation of therapy, taking into account individual patient’s response to treatment.
In patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Class B to Child-Pugh), the maximum daily dose is 7.5 mg. Do not appoint darifenacin in patients with severe hepatic impairment (class C Child-Pugh).
Pregnancy and lactation:

During drug treatment should stop breastfeeding.
From the digestive system may occur: dry mouth, constipation, dyspepsia, nausea, flatulence, ulcerative stomatitis, abdominal pain.

From the senses: Common: dry eyes, blurred vision; rarely breach of taste sensitivity.
Metabolism: Common: ALT and AST increase, peripheral edema; Sometimes: general swelling.
Cardio-vascular system: arterial hypertension or tachycardia.
On the part of the reproductive system: impotence, vaginitis in women.
Other: asthenia, face edema.
Indications for use:
Used in the treatment of overactive bladder (persistent urge to urinate, acute urinary incontinence, urinary frequency, nocturia).
— Urinary retention, slowing gastric motility, uncontrolled angle-closure glaucoma, increased sensitivity to darifenacin.
In hepatic dysfunction:
In patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Class B to Child-Pugh), the maximum daily dose — 7.5 mg. Do not appoint darifenacin in patients with severe hepatic impairment (class C Child-Pugh).
Only under medical supervision:
— Patients with clinically significant violation of the outflow from the bladder
— At the risk of urinary retention
— With severe constipation
— Obstructive diseases in the gastro-intestinal tract, such as pyloric stenosis.
