Nifedipine * (Nifedipine *). Application: Hypertension, including hypertensive crisis, prevention of angina attacks (including Prinzmetal angina), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Nifedipine * (Nifedipine *). Application: Hypertension, including hypertensive crisis, prevention of angina attacks (including Prinzmetal angina), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Pharmacology

Mode of action — antianginal, hypotensive.

Blocks calcium channels inhibit the transmembrane entry of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells of blood vessels and cardiomyocytes. It increases peripheral primarily arterial, blood vessels, including coronary, lowers blood pressure (possible slight reflex tachycardia and increased cardiac output), and reduces peripheral vascular resistance and afterload on the heart. Increases coronary blood flow, reduces the force of heart contraction, heart function and myocardial oxygen demand. It improves myocardial function and helps to reduce the size of the heart in patients with chronic heart failure. Lowers blood pressure in the pulmonary artery, it has a positive effect on cerebral hemodynamics. Inhibits Platelet aggregation has antiatherogenic properties (especially with prolonged use), improves circulation poststenotic atherosclerosis. Increases the excretion of sodium and water, it lowers the tone of the myometrium (tocolytic effect).

Application of Nifedipine

Hypertension, including hypertensive crisis, prevention of angina attacks (including Prinzmetal angina), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (obstructive, etc..), Raynaud’s syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, bronchial obstruction.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, the acute phase of myocardial infarction (the first 8 days), cardiogenic shock, marked aortic stenosis, chronic heart failure decompensation, severe arterial hypotension, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Mitral stenosis; hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy; AV blockade II and III level; bradycardia or tachycardia; syndrome sick sinus; malignant hypertension; hypovolemia; severe violations of cerebral circulation; myocardial infarction with left ventricular failure; obstruction of the esophagus, bowel obstruction or narrowing of the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract in history; permanent stoma valve to the tank (Coca pocket) on the ileum after total proctocolectomy; inflammatory bowel disease; Crohn’s disease; renal and / or hepatic impairment; hemodialysis (because of the risk of hypotension); pregnancy (II and III trimester); concomitant use of beta-blockers, digoxin.
