ZILOPRIM: antigout agent

ZILOPRIM is an antigout agent, treats pharmacological group of inhibitors of a xanthine oxidase. The preparation breaks synthesis of uric acid. The main action of ZILOPRIM – urostatic, it oppresses effect of enzyme which stimulates process of oxidation of oxypurine to xanthene, and its subsequent transformation into uric acid. These substances are much more readily soluble. Thus, the preparation reduces the level of uric acid in an organism and helps to dissolve urate, thereby preventing their adjournment in fabrics and kidneys.

Clinico-pharmacological group: hypoglycemic, antigouty. Lowers the maintenance of urate in serum of blood and prevents adjournment them in organism fabrics. Massive overdosing or acute poisoning by ZYLOPRIM (allopurinol) has not been reported.

Symptoms: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, oliguria. Treatment: the forced diuresis.

Side effects

Cardiovascular system: arterial hypertension, bradycardia.
