Composition, structure and packing: a round white pill with imprinted “MOTRIN”.

Basic ingredient: Ibuprofen.

Other ingredients: A pill contains microcrystalline cellulose with carnauba wax. It also includes croscarmellose sodium, lactose and magnesium stearate. A pill also has hypromellose, propylene glycol. In addition, there are titanium dioxide and colloidal silicon dioxide in the composition of the drug.

Dosage

To treat rheumatoid arthritis, flare-ups of maladies (chronic) and osteoarthritis patients use 1,2 – 3,2 g per day. The dose is divided to 600 mg and used twice or four times during a day. To relieve pain that is not very severe or to treat dysmenorrheal a patient might use a pill (400 mg). The interval between getting the tablets is from four to six hours.

Overdose

It is not allowed to take more than 3,2 g of the drug. People who have nausea, changed stools (black/ bloody), pain in stomach, faints, might have overdose. Other possible symptoms of overdose may occur: a patient may vomit, cough with blood, feel drowsy, have problems with breathing (shallow) and coma.

Side effects

This medicine might influence different organs and organism systems.

Stomach, intestine: abdominal pain, diarrhea, sour/acid stomach, bowel problems, stomach and intestine have too much air/ gas in them, bloating, indigestion, discomfort, belching. Less common effects are abdominal cramps, soreness of stomach. Rare maladies are blood in stools, black/ tarry/ clay-colored stools, constipation.

Heart: palpitations, heartburn, high blood pressure.

Alterations in mood and nervous system: dream abnormalities, emotional liability, agitation, insomnia, confusion, meningitis, pseudo-tumor cerebra. Moreover, it was registered some patients experiencing somnolence, depression, paresthesia, hallucinations.

A patient who undergoes the Motrin therapy may also feel unusually tired and weak, vomit, gain weight, have nausea, swelled different body parts, discomfort (sometimes pain) in chest/ throat. Rarely people might suffer coma, tinnitus, symptoms of catching a cold, experience pain in legs or back. Sometimes gums might start to bleed.

Rare effects are dry mouth, cystitis, rhinitis, azotemia, gingival ulcer, polyuria, hematuria. A patient might experience other symptoms as well.

this drug is prescribed to cure patients who have rheumatoid arthritis. It is also used to relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis and initial cases of dysmenorrhea.

Contraindications

If you smoke tobacco, drink alcohol, problems with heart, stomach, liver and kidney, you are allergic individual to NSAIDs (salicylates). Pregnant women and people, who suffered stroke (acute thromboembolic), mast cells, problems with blood clotting, cannot use Motrin.
