Composition, structure and packing: oblong pink pills that have printed mark “SQUIBB 655” on one side.

Other ingredients: tragacanth sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, potassium metaphosphate, sodium metabisulfite, colorant, potassium citrate, citric acid, purified water, sucrose, sodium benzoate, sorbitol solution, flavor.


The most effectiveness of Sumycin is reached when it is taken fasting. It is better to have an hour break before meal or it may be two hours break after it with water (full glass). Lying in bed is not recommended after intake (so have a period of time after taking it and going to bed). Try to keep the intervals between intakes equal – that makes the cure more effective.

To make the treatment very powerful do not use the medicine with remedies that contain calcium, aluminum or magnesium. Such medications as quinapril, vitamins or minerals, antacids, sucralfate, didanosine (some forms) as well as iron, dairy products, zinc, bismuth subsalicylate are able to make the absorption of the Sumycin main ingredient impossible because they bind with it.

  5. Infection of the middle ear;
  6. Conjunctivitis;
  7. Gums diseases (inflammation). The same diseases of mouth.


Hypersensitivity to this type of medicine (tetracyclines) is the first reason why it cannot be prescribed. Pregnant patients ought to be aware of its harm to unborn baby (it is not recommended). Breast-feeding mothers should know that it can appear in their milk but the concentration of it is small and harm for babies was not registered (but doctor consultation is required).
