Keflex is a cephalosporin antibiotic used in treatment of respiratory infections and ear infections.

Indications for use
Infections of the oral cavity, nasopharynx and respiratory tract, bone and skin, urogenital organs (including prostate), otitis media, sinusitis.
Hypersensitivity. During pregnancy and lactation: only in case of emergency.
For some patients: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, cholestatic jaundice, dizziness, weakness, headache, agitation, itching genitals and anus, vaginitis, arthralgia, arthritis, reversible interstitial nephritis, eosinophilia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, elevated liver transaminases, candidiasis genitals, pseudomembranous colitis, allergic reactions (rash, urticaria, angioedema, erythema, anaphylaxis).
Inside 1-4 g per day in divided doses (generally 250 mg every 6 hours). When streptococcal pharyngitis, skin infections, and uncomplicated cystitis (for patients older than 15 years) — 500 mg every 12 hours for 7-24 days. When an infectious process, caused by beta-hemolytic streptococcus — 10 days. Children (over 1 year) 25-50 mg / kg / day in divided doses: streptococcal pharyngitis, uncomplicated urinary tract diseases mild, skin infections — in 2 divided doses; in the case of severe infections, the dosage can be doubled.
